About Us

Healthworks is a national award-winning charity working with disadvantaged local communities to tackle health inequalities and improve their health and wellbeing through social prescribing. Based in Newcastle, but working across the region for over 29 years, our patron is Professor Michael Marmot. Our work has been recognised by a King’s Fund/GSK award for our work improving the physical and mental health of people across the North East of England.

We work in partnership with NHS and Local Authority colleagues and communities in many sectors to devise cost effective solutions that secure sustainable health impacts for many conditions that inhibit quality of life.

The Role

You will;
- Deliver key cancer related health messages through a variety of methods across the North East
- Work with and through communities to both identify and break down barriers to timely presentation
- Deliver Community Cancer Champions and Community Cancer Awareness sessions in the community
- Be part of bridging the gap between communities and primary care
- Engage marginalised and under represented communities
- Keep up to date with current health trends

About You

You will be an enthusiastic individual, motivated to use your skills to make a real difference for our communities. You will be passionate about increasing the uptake of cancer screening and improving awareness of cancer signs and symptoms.

Our Commitment

We know how important our team is to the amazing work that we do in our local communities. So in return we offer;
- 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays
- Free membership to both our gyms
- Training and development opportunities
