Fastly is seeking a Senior Sustainability Specialist to drive us forward on our journey to a more sustainable business and future. You will work with our suppliers to ensure that Fastly minimizes our production of greenhouse gasses and our consumption of important resources such as water. You will work with our customers on their sustainability programs, ensuring that Fastly is an able and progressive partner in each of their sustainability journeys. Last, you will champion sustainability within the company and on behalf of our customers.

**What You'll Do**:

- Lead engagement with internal and external partners to collect, track, verify and report on power consumption, renewable energy, and GHG as it pertains to Fastly's data centers
- Create and maintain a customer sustainability dashboard, in partnership with Product Management
- Work with customers and account teams to help answer customer queries on sustainability and understand and support customer's sustainability strategies
- Create and manage sustainability questionnaires for data center and hardware sourcing based on industry standards
- Develop a strategy to track and report on Fastly's GHG production, resource use and waste across the company, beyond our datacenter operations
- Develop and execute a plan to offset current consumption, and develop a long term path to zero waste and carbon neutrality
- Research and leverage leading technologies for sustainability initiatives

**What We're Looking For**:

- 5 - 7 years of direct experience in managing sustainability projects, renewable energy adoption programs, customer engagement, and operational reporting with an emphasis on data centers
- Basic knowledge of data center hardware, energy consumption, and operations as well as experience with vendor management regarding R2 and ISO 14001 certifications
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment, and must be highly capable of prioritizing multiple projects in the context of larger cross-functional initiatives
- Detailed, organized, have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and possess strong organizational and analytical skills

**We'll be super impressed if you have experience in any of these**:

- Advanced degree in Environmental Science, Management or similar
- Intermediate knowledge of financial reporting and modeling is valued

**Work Hours**:

- This position will require you to be available during core business hours.
