**Salary**:£55,000 - £70,000 per annum dependant on experience, plus bonus up to 32%, 38 days holiday (inlcuding bank holidays), Private Medical Care, Generous Pension, Volunteering days plus lots more

**The role**

We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as an Annuity Pricing Actuary in our London based Individual Annuities team within Retirement Solutions. The role offers an exciting opportunity to be in an area with plans to grow the existing business.

Working closely with the New Business Actuary, you will support the pricing of our internal individual annuity book as well as assisting in any development to expand our proposition. The role would fit somebody looking for a challenge and has a growth mind set.

Some of the key responsibilities will be:

- Recommend and implement methodology and assumption changes for pricing individual annuities including obtaining the required governance approval.
- Contribute to the specification, development and testing of complex propositions or numerical models, analysing a range of business data, making recommendations to Senior Actuaries and/or senior management to support decision making.
- To make recommendations on the commercial aspects of pricing using market insights along with projections of financial metrics.
- Developments a suite of MI to help senior stakeholders understand the business risk and trends
- Communicate effectively with a technical actuarial audience and simplify communications of technical issues to a non-technical audience.
- Continually look to enhance processes and procedures to deliver effective solutions for the business.
- Maintaining up to date regulatory, business & professional knowledge in an environment of fast moving regulatory change.
- Regularly working to defined and tight timescales whilst maintaining professional standards.

**What are we looking for?**
- A nearly / newly qualified actuary
- Pricing experience in annuities or other life products
- Knowledge of latest industry developments and techniques in respect of new business pricing, in particular for annuities and longevity risk
- Knowledge of Solvency II regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of the investment classes typically used to back annuity business
