We are looking for a Junior Product Technologist to join our team. Ensuring that all products meet the necessary legal requirements, as well as Joseph Joseph’s own quality, safety and functional standards. You’ll be responsible for your own product categories, in accordance with the Critical Path timelines, and will report to the Head of Quality & Product Compliance.

**What you will be doing**:

- Take ownership of the quality, safety and compliance of all products within own categories, from initial concept through to mass production completion.
- Review and test product concepts, prototypes, tooled samples, and production samples, provide technical feedback to internal stakeholders and suppliers
- Create product specifications, test methods and quality assurance plans, covering quality, compliance, and safety criteria for each project
- Plan and arrange lab testing for domestic and international markets, including UK, EU, USA, Japan and China, ensuring samples are selected and sent to the laboratory on time.
- Review initial packaging copy and artwork, advising on care and use, warnings and any information required for regulatory compliance, ensuring packaging claims are validated prior to artwork sign-off
- Work closely with suppliers and the China Quality Assurance Team to ensure Critical Path milestones are achieved during the pilot production run, mass production and inspection phases, and to resolve on-going quality issues with new and existing products. Maintain an in-depth and up to date understanding of worldwide product safety regulations, standards and industry best practice affecting Joseph Joseph products

**What we need from you**:

- A minimum of one year’s experience working in a technical function at a retailer, brand or manufacturer within homewares or hardgoods (such as toys, home têxtiles, etc).
- Suitable previous experience may include; Technical Assistant, Graduate Technologist, Assistant Technologist, Junior Technologist, or Product Technologist
- Excellent attention to detail
- Confident in communicating and developing relationships with internal and external sources
- Good numeracy skills
- A willingness to learn and improve and have a ‘hands on’ approach.
- Demonstrable technical capability to work with product specifications and understand any operational challenges
