Trainee Dispenser

**TRAINEE DISPENSER**

**Shift patterns available up to 30 hours per week.**

**Hours between 08:30 - 18:30 Monday to Friday with a set weekly pattern.**

**Flexibility to cover holidays and sickness is required.**

The Old School Surgery is a rural GP surgery with approximately 3500 patients. We dispense medication to just over 85% of our patient population.

We have three GP Partners, a Salaried GP, two practice nurses, along with other healthcare professionals that work within our surgery including, health visitor, social prescriber and care co-ordinator.

All staff pride themselves at the very high standard of primary care they deliver to our patients and work closely as an integrated team.

We are looking for a Trainee Dispenser to work within our busy dispensary team.

This is a fantastic career opportunity with no prior experience required which means there is plenty of opportunities to progress.

Ideally looking for a good communicator which is vital for speaking to patients and colleagues, also someone organised and can multitask.

Full dispensing training will be provided, alongside working towards your NVQ 2 after your initial probation period where you will then become a qualified dispenser.

Excellent communication skills, an eye for detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are essential and to enjoy working as part of a team.

The role will cover the following as you go through your training:

- Issue and dispense acute and repeat prescriptions.
- Order medication for stock.
- Unpack deliveries and check invoices, putting stock away and rotating the shelves.
- Fulfil weekly dosette boxes.
- Order, receive and dispense controlled drugs.
- Promote outstanding patient service and offer appropriate information and advice to patients and their carers.
- As a team take part in completing the annual DQSQ audit.
