Process Operator - Full Time

**REPORTING TO**

Plant Manager

**JOB PURPOSE**

To support the Plant Manager and site operational team in the overall business unit in all aspects of site operations.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Operations**
- Liaise with Plant Manager to ensure daily site checks and routines are maintained to ensure the site remains both compliant with EPR (Permit) and maintains operational performance.
- Day to day plant operations
- Accepting waste when it arrives to site, loading the waste into the de-packaging process using a front-end loading shovel/telehandler
- Moving materials around the site using mobile plant - Telehandler
- Controlling the delivery trucks bringing waste to site, helping them in and out of the tipping hall. Offloading vehicles with a forklift truck.
- Some first line maintenance to help maintain pumps, pipework and process.
- Washing and cleaning around site with a jet washer
- Completing maintenance tasks to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the plant.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**
- Process and Operational Experience desired
- Be familiar with computer-controlled plant operation.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- A positive flexible attitude and able to work shifts
- A telehandler or forklift truck licence is desired, but training will be given if you don't have an active licence.
- A hands-on and proactive approach
- A basic understanding of Health and Safety requirements at work
- A willingness to work hard, be adaptable to business requirements and to assist operations when overtime is required.
- An ability to manage your own time effectively and the ability (after training) to problem solve independently

**SALARY**

Up to 26,000 a year depending on experience

**WORKING HOURS**

12 hour Shifts - 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

Rotating Rota including Night Shift

Overtime as and when required.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £24,000.00-£26,000.00 per year

Schedule:

- 12 hour shift

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Gateshead: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
