Management Accountant
Location - Kendal
Salary - £40,000 DOE
Simpson Judge are working with rapidly growing manufacturing firm, with offices based in Kendal.
Responsibilities include:

- Preparation of monthly accounts for all companies in the Group and prepare the Group consolidated accounts for sign off by the Finance Manager/Financial Controller
- Preparation of the Group and all its subsidiaries annual accounts for year-end audit
- Co-ordinates the Group audit and is first liaison point with the auditors on all day-to-day audit requirements and ensuring delivery in line with the agreed timetable.
- Responsible for reconciliation of Group Intercompany accounts.
- Responsible for the accuracy of the VAT reconciliation and is able to identify, rectify and provide sound VAT advise to other members of the Business as required.
- Responsible for the completion and submission of the Irish VAT return, intrastate returns and associated tasks
- Assists in the preparation of UK forecasts, budgets and plans as required by the Finance Manager/Financial Controller
- Administers the development of monthly contribution reporting, providing advice and support to the Cost Accountant
- Manages day to day HSBC Banking and treasury transactions for all US businesses
- Provides timely cash flow reporting for all business as and when required by the Finance Manager/Financial Controller and/or in line with Group requirements
- Optimises all Grant Claims for the Group, including TSB grants and R&D tax credits and provides support and council for Hydrogen grant claims
- Ensures cover is in place for Cost Accountant, Assistant Accountant and Accounts Assistant roles
- Supports ongoing systems development
- Continually providing solutions to improvements in working processes that ensure accuracy and efficiency within the Department and delivers in line with wider Finance Group requirements.
- Deputise for the Group Finance Manager/Financial Controller as required
Person specification:

- Fully qualified accountant with a recognised accountancy qualification or QBE with extensive knowledge of a manufacturing organisation with multiple companies and a in depth understanding of the consolidation process
- Accounting knowledge including variance analysis, bookkeeping, profit and loss, balance sheets and cashflow statements
- Relevant accounting standards
- Costing Procedures
- Management Accounting Practices
- Ability to interpret financial information and investigate inconsistencies and explain and/or resolve them
- Requires a good understanding of the Company business systems and how they relate with each other
