**Company Overview**
DAPP UK is a small established Charity with a few different locations within the UK.
We aim to provide support to development projects focused on the relief of poverty, education and the development of the poorer populations.
We tackle the environmental issues by turning têxtile and clothes waste in funds for development and promoting a more sustainable way of living and of shopping by reuse.
We militate for a slow fashion wardrobe and buying from charity shops should become a fashion choice and a statement to protect the environment and keep the preloved têxtile from creating more waste.
We are working with both volunteers and employees.
**Summary**
We are seeking a highly organized and efficient **Sorter** to join our operations team. The Sorter plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate sorting, preparation, and distribution of donated clothes for our retail shops. This position demands attention to detail, speed, and a strong commitment to maintaining product quality and assortment accuracy.
Please note this is a position sorting clothes, shoes, accessories that are directly donated by the public and collected from our clothing banks. All clothes are preloved and you will be sorting through the bags and picking the right clothes according to the guidelines.
**Responsibilities**:
- Sort incoming clothes and preloved goods based on category, destination, and shop requirements.
- Inspect items for quality, damages, and compliance with company standards.
- Prepare and organize sorted clothes for shipment to the designated shops.
- Accurately label and document sorted goods to ensure traceability.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to maintain a clean, safe, and organized sorting area.
- Follow established procedures and safety protocols at all times.
- Report discrepancies, damages, or inventory issues to the supervisor immediately.
- Support inventory counts and assist in stock management when required.
- Operate sorting and packaging equipment efficiently and safely.
**Requirements**:
- Prior experience in warehouse operations or sorting roles is an advantage.
- Knowledge of brands and têxtiles and experience with second hand is a an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Capable of lifting and moving packages as required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**Work Environment**:
- Fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- It’s all about preloved clothes and shoes, must be able to come in contact with used clothing and other items of waste.
- Must be able to lift heavy items regularly.
Pay: From £13.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
