I am seeking to recruit a Trainee Accountant for a fast paced and dynamic business in the Pontyclun area. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate with a good academic record to study towards an accounting qualification whilst working full-time. Theclient will provide full ACCA study support including tuition, materials and exam fees with the aim of developing you into a well-rounded professional with strong commercial awareness.

Reporting into the Financial Controller duties will include - **General Finance Tasks**
- Posting monthly journals onto system
- Balance sheet reconciliations (FA, accruals, prepayments etc)
- Bank reconciliation
- Inter-company reconciliation and posting of journal
- Fixed Asset register (ensuring all descriptions up to date, backup invoices included in file)
- Nominal Ledger analysis
- Assist with Purchase Ledger (check payment runs, checking and posting month end invoice accrual journal)
- ONS monthly surveys

**Finance Admin Tasks**
- Inputting payments on banking platform
- Updating sales and margin report (and reconciling to the sales ledger at month end)
- Pulling together weekly sales reports for both own brand and contract bottling and issuing to business
- Ad hoc sales reports

**Sales Ledger**
- Raising and issuing sales invoices
- Due diligence and credit checks on customers and setting accounts up on Vintner (following both HMRC guidelines and internal checks when agreeing credit terms)
- Pulling together debtor report, issuing weekly and chasing debt

**Commercial Tasks**
- Pulling together commercial deals for own brand products and contract bottling customers
- Assisting planning team with raising and closing off recipes and bottling batches for customer orders on the system

**Stock**
- Stock reconciliation (pulling stock file together, identifying revaluation issues)
- Assisting with month end stocktake
- Reviewing any stock adjustments posted to system and checking we have the backup in file for HMRC purposes
- Reconciliation of monthly stock movements

**Essential Requirements**
- Part qualified accountant / part qualified by experience
- Excellent excel skills (vlookup’s, pivot tables)
- Good reconciliation skills
- Experience in the alcohol industry and alcohol duties would be a great advantage
- Self-motivated and confident with the ability to work on own initiative but also works well within a team
- Well organised and the ability to work to tight deadlines
- An ability to work methodically and accurately with a keen attention to detail
- Eager to learn and progress, with a can-do attitude and not afraid to get stuck in
