Daycare Assistant
Monday - Friday - 7.30am to 1pm (27.5hrs per week)
What will I be doing?
- Maintaining visual observation of dogs always and spread attention and play among
all dogs in playgroup.
- For all dogs in playgroup, report any unusual behaviour, or eliminations and injuries
to management immediately.
- Requesting back-up coverage prior to leaving the playgroup floor unattended.
- Reviewing information on whiteboard regarding walking and in playroom before start
of shift and comply with instructions.
- Completing dog incident reports timely when required. If you are not sure whether a
report is required check with management.
- Completing general cleaning duties as posted or assigned.
- Scooping dog waste immediately and dispose of it as instructed.
- Mopping up accidents immediately.
- Dusting mopping/wet mopping floors as assigned.
- Removing rubbish from containers.
- Disinfecting outside area.
- Changing/Laundering beds etc.
- Cleaning water bowls, kongs, and other toys.
- Greeting customers and bringing dogs into playroom including a health assessment.
- Handling payments
- Tracking dog attendance as needed
- Answering phones as needed
- Other general office duties as needed

- To participate in learning throughout your role and maintain a learning log which may
contribute towards your professional development
- Ensure you know all dogs in playgroup and can properly identify them. If not, request
assistance from other staff or management.
- To learn all dogs in group, the special needs dog status and any unusual behaviours
or concerns you have been managing during your shift.
- Dog Management
- Learn how to interact with dogs in playgroups using appropriate toys and tools to
ensure safe levels of play and minimising stress levels of all dogs in playgroup
- Know how to control level of play by following dog management and control
procedures and instructions provided by management
- How to use proper dog handling techniques as instructed by management.
- How to use proper dog introduction procedures.
- How to use appropriate praise and dog correction methods.
**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 27.5 per week
**Salary**: £4.81-£9.50 per hour
