Head of Operational Strategy

Your role at a glance
Legal and General’s LGRI business unit is currently looking to hire a new Head of Operational Strategy to support the Transformation director in navigating and executing the groups business objectives as they face accelerated growth.

As the objectives of LGRI increase due to market acceleration the need has arisen for longer term strategies to be identified and this role will see you liaising with teams across the business unit to identify, strategize and implement new business plans to increase efficiency and deliverables, and in cases where goals have already been recognised work with stakeholders to strategize their delivery.

You will be initially managing one person, with the plan to define and build out a cross functional team as required

What you'll be doing
- Taking responsibility for Shaping and communicating LGRI’s operating strategy through engagement with business strategy plans and cross divisional teams.
- Providing strategic direction to teams within the COO function to ensure clear strategic alignment between transformation, tech and ops plans and roadmaps
- Supporting the Strategy and Implementation Director by driving the story and narrative that enables the securing of investment for LGRIs 3-5-year development plans
- Operating as a consultant to business unit teams and stakeholders to impact assess business opportunities that inform strategic operating plans and priorities.
- Managing and leading strategy and business design through the management of team and/or senior level individual contributors.
- Supporting the Strategy and Implementation Director and team by driving and embedding a culture of value measurement using metrics to track performance against strategy and enable fact-based prioritisation
- Ensuring that appropriate prioritising, planning, resourcing, and contingency for customer issues are integrated into programme and resource plans so they are central to delivery and aligned to Legal & General’s Customer Experience and Treating Customers Fairly policy.

What we're looking for
- Relevant business/strategy qualifications or demonstrable equivalent experience at this level
- Strong knowledge of PRT and asset management market and trends
- Understanding of modern technology and agile change delivery
- Understanding of financial services organisational constructs and regulatory environments
- Relevant experience of designing strategy and operating models in financial services organisation
- Experience of creating and measuring initiatives which introduce organisational and process changes across multiple business lines and/or legal entities
- Previous asset management experience strongly preferred, and experience of working on transformational programmes preferred.
- Experience of people leadership
