Groundsperson

A qualified, experienced, self-motivated and well-organised person is required to help maintain and develop the grounds and gardens of Highfield & Brookham School, which have an estate of approximately 175 acres. Working as part of a small team of experienced grounds staff, you will maintain and improve the grounds, gardens and sport facilities of the schools including sports pitches, cricket squares, golf course, hard surfaces, woodlands, paths and driveways to the highest possible standards.

Essential Qualifications & Skills:

- Secondary education (English & Maths essential)
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a sports turf or horticulture related field
- 2 years’ experience of working in a similar role, preferably within a school environment
- Experience in the use of a range of grounds machinery
- Full, clean Driving Licence

Desirable Qualifications & Skills:

- PA1 & PA6 Pesticide Application certification
- Setting out and initial marking of pitches for multiple sports including athletics
- Health & Safety Training
- Manual Handling Training
- Chainsaw Cross Cutting & Maintenance
- Chainsaw - Small tree felling

This is a full-time role working from 7:30am to 4:30pm with an unpaid hour for lunch (40 hours per week) all year round.
