**Kitchen Supervisor / Head Cook**

**27 hours per week**

**£13.75 per hour**

An opportunity has arisen for a friendly, enthusiastic and skilled cook to join our rapidly growing and forward thinking company in the Cheadle Hulme SK8 7PZ area. Our user-friendly School Grid pre-ordering system ensures you know how many meals to cook in advance, manages allergen control for you, generates recipes and makes ordering super simple, helping you to cook great food. We are looking for someone with an eye for detail and a flare for flavour.

Your main responsibilities will be:

- Plan, organise and monitor controls of food quality, presentation and service.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual budget to achieve and maintain the food cost within the unit.
- Ensure the health & safety for all Dolce employees and third parties
- Prepare food using fresh ingredients.
- Prepare menus and develop recipes.
- General catering duties following the method described in the Kitchen Folder.
- Supervision and training of kitchen staff to ensure all team members are working in line with targets and current legislation
- Be responsible for the cleaning and maintaining of the kitchen and facilities to comply with all aspects of Health and Safety.
- Check in deliveries of catering and cleaning materials
- Routine administration duties and reconciliation of cash
- Oversee emergencies including, but not limited to, flooding and spills.
- Participation in all Company mandatory training requirements.
- Previous catering and cooking experience within a similar environment.
- Competent baking skills for making biscuits, cakes, etc.
- An understanding of allergens, and allergen control procedures
- Supervisory/Management skills.
- Relevant professional catering qualification.
- Good understanding of budgets. Previous experience in purchasing and stock control is desirable.
- Ability to work well in a team and on your own initiative.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to change and take on different tasks as and when required.

You must have relevant qualifications in Food Safety and Hygiene standards and Health & Safety (IOSH and COSHH) as well as GCSE Maths and English.
