**Job Overview**
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in providing exceptional customer service and support in the optical field. You will assist optometrists and opticians in various tasks, ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care and attention. Your knowledge of anatomy and laboratory practices will be invaluable in helping us maintain our standards of excellence.

**Responsibilities**
- Assist optometrists during eye examinations by preparing patients and equipment.
- Conduct preliminary tests such as visual acuity assessments and intraocular pressure measurements.
- Help patients select appropriate eyewear based on their needs and preferences.
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment scheduling.
- Ensure that all optical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained.
- Assist with laboratory tasks, including lens cutting, edging, and frame adjustments.
- Provide excellent customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns effectively.
- Stay updated on the latest optical products, trends, and technologies to better assist customers.

**Qualifications**
- Knowledge of anatomy related to the eye is highly desirable.
- Experience in a laboratory setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and team members.
- Attention to detail and excellent organisational skills are essential for managing multiple tasks efficiently.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and adapting to changes in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience in an optical or healthcare setting is a plus but not required.
