An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Carpentry Lecturer/Tutor to join a local college that have recently received a ‘Good’ rating from OFSTED. They are currently looking to recruit an experienced Business Lecturer to join their team.
They are committed to PREVENT and safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young adults and expect all staff to share this commitment.
This is a permanent, full-time position working 37 hours per week.
The package on offer for Carpentry Lecturer/Tutor:
- Basic salary between £25326 and £38195 depending upon experience and qualifications.
- 40 days’ annual leave plus 5 efficiency days per year plus bank holidays.
- The opportunity to join the Teacher’s Pension Scheme.
Purpose of the role of a Carpentry Lecturer/Tutor:
- To achieve outstanding outcomes for students using a variety of teaching and learning strategies to engage and inspire learning.
- Develop course material that meets the needs of the students.
- Produce schemes of work, assessment plans and complete the 5-minute lesson planner.
- Deliver lectures on all aspects of carpentry and joinery.
- Monitor the progress of students providing individual support for students to ensure successful outcomes.
- Support all aspects of the students’ journey, including pastoral care and personal, social and welfare development.
- To lead on the recruitment, retention and achievement of students and contribute towards the pastoral care of students.
- To attend parents’ evenings, open events, student taster events and other marketing events.
- Develop robust planning that will aid delivery across the provision and decide on the right tools or techniques to be used to carry out a task.
Skills, qualifications and experience needed for the position of Carpentry Lecturer/Tutor:
- Hold or be working towards a professional teaching qualification - PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS or equivalent.
- Assessor qualifications would be an advantage.
- Relevant vocational experience and qualifications.
- Experience of delivering Maths, English and Employability Skills within a vocational programme.
As part of this role you may be required to work between different sites so will need access to a car and a full UK drivers licence.
