Project Controller

We’re looking for a driven and enthusiastic Project Controller to effectively manage projects for our DATAKOM business.
Based out of Birmingham at our West Midlands Hire & Service Centre you will manage the delivery of allocated projects across the West Midlands and South West regions, ensuring all necessary measures are taken such that works are carried out in a safe manner, whilst providing effective programme and cost control at all times.
DATAKOM provides a range of products and services to enable customers to use 21st century technology in one of our buildings. Our product range covers everything from structured cabling installs, wireless networking, fibre optic connections, Interactive Touch boards, Smart TV’s to Full turn-key IT installations.
**Role Details**
- Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 plus 5% OTE Bonus
- Role based: Birmingham or Nuneaton
- Contract type: Permanent
- Annual leave: 25 days plus bank holidays
**Role Responsibilities**
- Manage project installations and dismantles ensuring that projects are completed within planned costs and agreed timescales.
- Build relationships with Commercial, Service and Projects teams to deliver projects on time and on budget.
- In conjunction with appropriate Commercial Staff, implement/participate in Project Launch and Design Freeze Process and manage variations.
- Ensure that the necessary resources, including labour allocation, materials and all sub-contract requirements, are in place and managed.
- Ensure compliance with all legislation, codes of practice, industry guidelines and /or Company procedure relating to Health and Safety.

We are looking for someone who has:
- Proven project management experience
- Strong all round technical knowledge - including where possible Building Regulations, HTM’s, HBN’s and CDM
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of financial control in delivering projects including negotiation of terms and final accounts.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, in particular Word, Excel and Project.
- Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation and procedures.
