We want you to join our great ranger team to improve habitats for wildlife across 1400 acres and provide a welcome environment for visitors to unwind. **This 24-month post will give you opportunities to get involved in a wide variety of tasks in an ecologically diverse estate.**

The voice of our landscapes, conservation champions and lovers of all things outdoors, you’ll help to keep the British countryside and coast wonderful. Working in some of the nation’s most stunning places and spaces, come rain or shine, your love of the outdoors will inspire others as you strive to ensure that landscapes are beautifully presented and continue to take our visitors’ breath away.

What it's like to work here:The Lyme Ranger team are committed to improving the health of our varied habitats which include; Parkland, moorland, broadleaf and coniferous woodlands, ponds, lakes and wood pasture. We are also keen to develop a strong desire within our visitors to make a difference for nature and the planet. What you'll be doing:This is an extremely varied role which will see you getting involved in tasks such as fencing, dry stone walling ecological monitoring, woodland management, working with volunteers, leading guided walks, invasive species removal and work with our herd of red deer. Whilst it is fair to say that the role is focussed on practical tasks, there will also be an element of office work required.

**Who we're looking forSomeone who has**:

- a passion for the protecting the natural world
- relevant land management knowledge and experience
- chainsaw experience and certification
- full driving licence
- good verbal communication skills
- experience of using machinery and equipment relevant to the role.
