**Finance and Administration Director - £70,000-£80,000 + Benefits - Cambridgeshire**

**The Role
This is an exciting and rewarding role for an ambitious individual looking to make their mark in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment. We need a Finance and Administration Director who can think on their feet, and use their initiative, to ensure thesmooth running of our financial operations.

You will be a hands-on finance and administration director and be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations of the company, overseeing the delivery of financial services, including the preparation and management of the annual budget, financialplanning, budgeting and forecasting and the production of accurate management accounts and financial statements. You will also be responsible for the administration functions of the company.

**Key Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of a Finance and Administration Director include, but are not limited to:

- Operate the established system of financial controls appropriate to safeguard the assets of the company.
- Keeping highly accurate records sufficient to provide evidence of financial transactions and of controls.
- Supporting the Directors in fundraising with management accounts, projections and reporting to Board level.
- Processing of bank payments and maintenance of secure documents e.g. cheque books, credit cards.
- Management of the audit process.
- Responsible for all VAT matters.
- Assisting external accountants in the preparation of corporation tax returns and R&D tax claims.
- Responsible for administration of employee share options.
- Liaison with external providers including bank, auditors, tax advisers, Quality consultants and Quality Auditors.
- Participation in project teams to support financial reporting for Grant-funded projects.
- Company Secretarial duties.
- Fundraising, negotiating business loans and high-level commercial business development skills required.

**The Person
The key skills and qualities of a Finance and Administration Director are:

- Possess suitable qualifications and experience.
- Strong verbal and writing skills. A verbal reasoning test will be used during selection (has to be able to write policy documents)
- Demonstrated ability in a leadership role.
- Highest levels of personal organisation, with strict attention to detail are the key qualities needed.
- Management and leadership for a growing administrative function as the company expands in the post-pandemic era, Directorship after probationary/learning period with share options and buy-in opportunity.
- Part-Qualified accountant with ideally hands-on experience in the Medical Devices Sector or with a life science background and experience.
- Highest levels of IT literacy.
