Sellick partnership are currently assisting in the recruitment of an Independent living coordinator to join a housing group organisation around the Manchester area.
The role is to act as an independent living coordinator responsible for promoting and maximising independence for older people
**Duties of the Independent living coordinator**:
- To be responsible for all aspects of tenancy management, including voids, repairs, maintenance, allocations, lettings process, customer inductions, rents, aids and adaptions, ASB and challenging behaviour and breaches of occupancy agreements;
- To be responsible for general building management and security, including:
- Ensuring the successful running of the building and to be a contact for building and property enquiries.
- Ensuring all properties and communal areas are in a good state of repair, that repairs are carried out in a timely manner and to a good standard and that the services delivered by contractors is monitored and failures to meet specifications are reported;
- To be responsible for the security of the building, ensuring access for contractors as necessary and taking responsibility for the security of keys to the premises and to control the use of the master key, in line with current procedures
- To support the welfare of customers, providing welfare checks in line with the service offer, responding to alarm calls and emergencies when on site and working closely with customer relatives along with supporting agencies to ensure that customers practicaland personal needs are met.
**Requirements of Independent living coordinator**:
- Relevant professional qualifications/memberships (institute of customer service qualification) or equivalent experiences
- Qualified to minimum level 2 in English and Maths
- Able to travel to multiple locations
- Driving licence and access to transport
**Experience and skills**:
- Experience of basic housing processes, welfare benefits and funding knowledge;
- Experience of working with older people or in a housing setting/tenancy and estates management role is desirable
- Have relevant and up to date knowledge around housing and tenancy legislation and procedures which can be acted upon to make informed decisions
- Demonstrate an understanding of independent living services
