We are seeking a Content Operations Planner to join our team and own the execution of the content pipeline.
Reporting directly to the Head of Operational Delivery, this role is critical for planning and managing the content delivery roadmap, ensuring alignment with business stakeholder requirements. You will work closely with team leaders to allocate resources, plan capacity, and deliver weekly content releases efficiently. As the owner of workflows and processes in JIRA, you’ll optimise operations to ensure they are scalable and effective, while also providing data-driven insights on performance metrics.
Key Areas:
- Workflow Management and Capacity Planning_- Own and manage workflows in JIRA, ensuring tickets are accurately triaged, categorised, and prioritised.- Plan, schedule, and execute weekly content releases, adhering to a structured 4-week lockdown and forward-planning schedule for weeks 4-8 and beyond.- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align resources and priorities with business goals.- Ensure all tickets are in the correct status and work proactively to resolve any blocked issues.- Take ownership of the capacity plan, monitoring resource utilisation and forecasting future needs to ensure smooth delivery of content releases.- Identify potential bottlenecks and implement solutions to maintain workflow efficiency.- Continuously review and refine workflows in JIRA to ensure scalability and alignment with best practices.- Develop and maintain detailed documentation of workflows, processes, and release plans.- Implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce bottlenecks.
- Performance Reporting and Insights_- Track and report weekly KPIs, including delivery accuracy and performance metrics, using tools such as Power BI and JIRA dashboards.- Provide actionable insights and recommendations to improve operational efficiency and resource planning.- Use data-driven analysis to guide decisions and support continuous improvement.
- Collaboration and Communication_- Act as the central point of contact for content delivery between internal teams and stakeholders.- Ensure smooth collaboration across technical and non-technical teams, promoting alignment and accountability.- Communicate updates on capacity, workflow status, and performance metrics to the Head of Operational Delivery and other stakeholders.
- Role and Responsibility:_- Take responsibility for planning and executing content releases, ensuring alignment with business requirements and timelines.- Maintain accurate workflows and processes, ensuring all deliverables meet the highest standards.- Leverage analytics to assess performance metrics, track progress, and inform decision-making.- Use insights to recommend improvements to workflows and capacity management processes- Work closely with the Content Planner, team leaders, and other stakeholders to coordinate resources and priorities effectively.- Proactively address challenges and escalate risks to ensure project success.- Identify and implement improvements to workflows and resource allocation processes.- Leverage data insights to enhance operational efficiency and achieve KPIs.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
Experience- 2+ years’ experience in managing and optimising workflows, ideally in a content delivery or operational environment.- Extensive hands-on experience with JIRA for workflow management, resource planning, and tracking.- Proven success in planning, coordinating, and delivering projects or releases against tight deadlines.- Knowledge of capacity planning and resource allocation best practices.- Experience generating and maintaining reporting dashboards (e.g., Power BI) to track performance and inform decision-making.
Knowledge and Skills- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights.- Familiarity with Agile and Kanban methodologies, including sprint planning and backlog management.- Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft Office tools for reporting and analysis.
