**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**GALVANIZING OPERATIVE**

**MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB**
- Receiving material coming into the plant.
- To inspect materials for suitability in accordance with the pre-process checking procedure.
- Check incoming advice/delivery notes.
- Bring materials into works when required for processing and unload onto jigs in a safe manner suitable for processing, fully utilising jig capacity. Ensure ID labels are attached.
- Unload jigs after galvanizing, inspect materials ensuring compliance with company QA policy ISO 9001 & Galvanizing standards BS EN ISO 1461.
- Count and stack material in a safe and tidy manner.
- To employ methods with regard to his own safety and of others in the immediate vicinity.

**Key skills/experience/attributes required**:

- Must be happy to work shifts.Hours of work 2 weekly rotating shift patterns 06.00 14.00 and 14.00 22.00 Monday Friday.
- Flexibility to work overtime when required would be beneficial.
- Be a quick learner and be able to follow clear direction and a structured health and safety training programme including the use of PPE
- Be happy to work in a manual, physical job with manual handling
- Any experience working within a production process environment would be beneficial but not essential, full training will be provided
- A team worker although able to work alone when required
- An overhead crane and/or forklift license would be beneficial but not essential
- Good time management, attention to detail and hard work ethic
- A good standard of literacy and numeracy
