We are currently recruiting a Finance Apprentice to join us at our Head Office in Lutterworth. This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to start a career within finance whilst completing an 18 months training programme consisting of workplace and online assessments.
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the primary purpose of the role is to provide enhanced processing capacity, analysis and control across the central finance function.
Working with a team of experienced, newly qualified and trainee accountants, the Finance Apprentice will have the opportunity to develop their understanding of the fundamentals of being a finance professional. The variety of the role will ensure the Finance Apprentice is able to gain practical work experience to accompany, and provide context for, their ongoing professional studies.
The scale of the department and organisation will, over time, offer the Finance Apprentice the opportunity to explore a number of development paths, both within and outside the finance function.
**Key Tasks**
- To assist with the daily cash duties including raising payments, preparing bank reconciliations and preparing daily cash reports
- Taking ownership for the review of petty cash balances and associated expense claims
- Preparing, reviewing and distributing daily and weekly purchase order cost reports
- Preparing insightful management information, including fuel recovery, travel cost analysis and other overhead cost analysis as requested by management
- Working closely with the Senior Management Accountant and UK Finance Manager to design and implement productivity and control KPIs for the department
- Supporting the Senior Management Accountant with the preparation of National Statistic surveys
- Supporting the department is delivery on time and accurate reporting, including preparing accurate journal entries on a monthly basis
- Supporting the department with the preparation of annual statutory accounts
- Ad hoc data gathering and reporting as required, including for audit and tax purposes and of competitor financial information
- Working with the Credit Control and Purchase Ledger managers to provide additional processing support, as required
- Performing key control procedures for the department, including maintaining charity and gift registers
- Provide administrative duties where necessary
- Any other projects & responsibilities as advised by the Senior Management Accountant

**Qualification and Experience Requirements**
- Minimum of 5 GCSE’s (Including Maths and English)
- Good numerical and analytical Skills
- Strong IT and systems skills (Microsoft Excel)
- Highly organised and able to work under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Have a flexible approach and be a confident team player
