At Social Care Wales, we provide national leadership and expertise in social care and early years in Wales.

To do this, we lead on developing and regulating the social care workforce, service improvement, data and research to improve care.
We are now looking for four Fitness to Practise Senior Officers to join our dedicated team on permanent contracts.
**The Benefits**:

**The Role**
As a Fitness to Practise Senior Officer, you will undertake investigations into formal allegations and complaints made against registered social care workers.
You will provide advice to people and organisations seeking guidance on fitness to practise matters including employers, members of the public and universities.
You will also prepare case documentation for officer and panel disposals, interview and manage witnesses, producing accurate witness statements and provide timely responses to referrers and registered persons.
Additionally, you will:
- Record all case information in the case management system
- Attend hearings and instruct our presenting solicitor
- Help manage officer sanctions
- Provide advice to parties involved in the case on the findings of the investigation
**About You**
To join us as a Fitness to Practise Senior Officer, you will need:
- Significant experience of working in the sector, OR a good knowledge of regulatory work, OR a recognised social work, social care or human resources qualification with evidence of continuing professional development, OR an understanding of legal frameworksrelevant to the work of Social Care Wales
- Experience of dealing with highly sensitive information and situations in a confidential and professional manner
- The ability to assess complicated, sensitive and comprehensive information, ensuring attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to write detailed and logical reports with recommendations for hearing panels
- The ability to carry out investigations in a thorough, logical and professional manner
- The ability to use an IT based case management system
There are multiple roles available, some of which require Welsh language skills.
