We are looking to employ a Head of Finance Operations to be based in London and to work with us on a full time basis.

The Role

As part of the Finance management team you will report to the Financial Controller and are part of the Finance Leadership team. You are managing four Finance operations teams covering Technical Accounting, Accounts Payable, Receivables & Cash Management, Credit Control and Accounting Systems and taking responsibility for the deliverables of the Finance operations team. This involves people management, collaborating with various teams across the finance department as well as business departments within MRSG as well as Munich Re Group.

**Responsibilities**:
Management
- Lead a group of around 26 staff led by 4 Managers and create a culture of collaboration, excellence and professional growth.
- As part of the Finance Manager team contribute actively to the development and execution of the Finance Department progress
- Build relationships with Banks and other financial institutions, with broker and risk carrier counterparts
- Partner with MRSG Operations team to support business initiatives

Accounting Systems
- Actively contribute to improving current systems, tools, processes & controls reporting
- Ensure an efficient operation of the cost recharge model
- Ensure effective fixed asset recognition, reporting and controls

Accounts Payable & Cash Management
- Ownership of Client Money duties and review of monthly client money reconciliations.
- Ensure an efficient payments process by optimising process standardisation and system automation
- Drive best practice cash management strategies and standardised operational procedures
- Ensuring efficient & strong controls over payroll processing and related cost items incl. HMRC returns
- Manage relationship with the outsourced Investment Management company

Credit Control
- Ensure effective aged debt management and build on relationships with the customers of the UK & Irish International Distribution Channels

Technical Accounting
- Ensure effective and compliant management of the UK and Irish MGA accounting team

What we are looking for

Key Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated history of solving multiple complex operational and accounting challenges
- Experience in process improvements, systems implementation and wider project work
- Experience of managing and/or leading a team
- Personality characterized by energy and curiosity
- Natural propensity for organization and an aptitude for information technology

**Qualifications**:

- Accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA
- University degree or equivalent
