An opportunity has arisen for **Senior Engineer - Design** to join our Design Group in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment. Responsible for leading small projects, developing engineering designs from concept through to manufacture and directing other team members as required. Working closely with a wide range of customers from SMB’s to major OEM’s to interpret their requirements and deliver engineered solutions within weight, cost and timing targets.

**Job role**:

- Reporting into a wide range of projects through the Design Group, you will have a good understanding of engineering and be able to adapt to mechanical, composite and electrical systems.
- Working closely with the Lead Designer you will be responsible for leading engineering designs from concept through to manufacture working within customers cost and timing requirements.
- Responsible for leading & guiding small projects and mentoring and guiding other team members.
- Be responsible for developing 3D CAD models and 2D detail drawings using Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
- Attend and lead design reviews to present, discuss and critique ideas and to review and guide alternative solutions.
- Work closely with procurement and production departments to ensure cost, manufacturing capability and quality is built into the design.
- Generate and present project material to customers and key internal / external stakeholders.
- Problem solving and fault rectification.

**You’ll have**:

- An engineering qualification (e.g. Degree) in mechanical, automotive, electrical or aerospace engineering and or be able to show capability by proven experience.
- Experience of design in the specialist automotive or motorsport industry or be able to show that your experience is transferrable to and advanced engineering environment.
- Experience of leading small projects or project teams.
- High level of CAD literacy in Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
- Working knowledge of CATIA V5 beneficial.
- Good working knowledge of proprietary PC software e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Ability to work with a level of independence, respond quickly to problems and to maintain departmental standards
