**To achieve the Level 4 Apprenticeship standard**: Fire Safety Inspector - assess the level of fire safety in the built environment in the organisation and instigate improvements, where necessary, to preserve life, to reduce damage to property and the environment and to support sustainable growth. - Work in partnership with estate maintenance team in the planned servicing of fire fighting equipment thorughout the Trust & external partnership locations - ensure compliance with all relevant Fire Safety legislation and guidance, in particular the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and related Department of Health, Health Technical Memorandums (Firecode): You will be given protected study time within the workplace and be mentored by the Fire Safety Officer in order to develop your skills and knowledge in fire safety, to achieve the Fire Safety Inspector Level 4 Apprenticeship Standard. - Carry out Fire Safety inspections/audits of premises in line with current fire safety legislation and organisational requirements - Conduct fire door safety inspections on an agreed set frequency in line with best practice requirements, and record findings within a CAFM system detailing the asset inventory of fire doors - Work in partnership with estate maintenance team in the planned servicing of fire fighting equipment thorughout the Trust & external partnership locations - Enforce Fire Safety legislation in accordance with organisational policy, to include collecting/providing evidence, where appropriate - Gather Operational Risk Information to contribute to the safety of operational staff, in line with organisational requirements. Escalate potential high risks that are identified through the fire risk assessment process and from the incident management system via Trust Risk Register - Examine and respond to consultations and submissions from external stakeholders and provide advice in order to determine compliance with statutory codes of practice and other fire safety related legislation with applicable time constraints. - Support formal investigations as required by the organisation and take appropriate action, in line with organisational procedures meeting legislative requirements.
