We are recruiting a Chair for our Wessex training the trainers facilitator faculty. You will be doing the following
- Chairing the twice-yearly whole tutor group meeting which is part developmental and part strategic.
- Strategic development of the courses below with ongoing development and introduction of new courses as necessary.
- To ensure succession planning for the tutor group and identify new potential tutors.
- To receive and comment on the evaluation for each course giving developmental feedback for each of the tutors as a result of that evaluation.
- To continue to take part in being a tutor on these events both in a facilitator and observer capacity to maintain the flattening of the hierarchy

All facilitators act to facilitate courses and as observers on the larger courses. This is for two-way observational development, both for the observer to learn new techniques from their peers and for the observer to give feedback to the observed facilitator.

The faculty is made-up of experienced trainers, programme directors, one nurse and a medical homoeopath. The catalogue of courses, the vast majority of which are face to face, include:
1 Prospective trainers’ course

2 New trainers’ course

3 Experienced trainers’ course

4 Trainers supervising trainees needing professional support.

5 Clinical supervisors both in practice (foundation, retention doctors, induction, and refresher doctors) and out of practice (OOH) - new and 3 yearly refreshers.

6 Enhanced clinical supervisors (are able to undertake AiT assessments)

7 The good bad and the ugly - eportfolio course

8 Supervision of wider workforce

9 Small group facilitation course

We are looking for someone with medical education experience ideally, as well as experience being a GP educational supervisor and ideally working clinically to ensure they are able to keep up to date. You will work as part of the wider Senior educator team and attend Associate Dean meetings once monthly. You will report directly to the Deputy Head and Head of GP school.
