- Due to the nature of work that Sonic Healthcare UK undertakes, our clients require that Employees filling certain roles, need, as part of their on-boarding to complete a DBS Check. This role falls in to the category of requiring a DBS check (standard)_

**About the role**:

- An opportunity has arisen in the Point of Care Testing (POCT) Department at Barnet Hospital for a POCT Associate Practitioner.
- The successful applicant will be expected to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday covering the service between 9:00AM to 17:30PM as required. This will also involve covering weekends and Bank Holidays when required by the service. You will also be required to attend the following sites: Chase Farm Hospital, Hadley Wood Hospital, Finchley Memorial Hospital and Edgware Hospital as and is needed by the POCT service.
- We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, highly motivated experienced individual to the role of POCT AP. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of POCT devices and analysers they will assist the POCT Manager, Deputy Manager and POCT BMS in the implementation of the Trust wide POCT Policy.
- This includes maintaining specialized POCT equipment, troubleshooting, reagent management, documentation, performance of internal quality control, administration of external quality assessment programmes, delivering and organising training, audits and supporting service users.
- The post holder will work relatively independently, supported by the POCT Manager and POCT Deputy Manager on site to deliver and facilitate training on a range of POCT devices and analysers. Given the outward facing nature of this role, the successful individual will need to have significant POCT experience in the delivery and facilitation of POCT training and good organizational communication skills and be comfortable attending wards.
