This is a rare opportunity to join a supportive, welcoming team. We have positions available for Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist and Band 5 Speech and Language Therapist development post. Joining the team in a Band 5 development post, full support will be provided to develop your skills as you progress to the Band 6 post. Progression to Band 6 will be guided through achievement of competencies.
These posts sit within the Adult Speech and Language Therapy Community Team, and the Community Stroke Team, both based within the city of Nottingham.
There are many excellent opportunities for training and development available within this team. We offer regular one-to-one supervision, shadowing opportunities, hold monthly SLT clinical meetings, are involved in SLT Clinical Excellence Networks (such as the East Midlands Progressive Neurology CEN) and support attendance on specialist training, in specific clinical interventions including Speak OUT, dysphagia rehab, dysfluency and others.
The service provides home visits, clinic appointments, in-reach to care homes, and runs therapeutic groups including dysfluency, post stroke (total communication skills), and a Parkinsons voice maintenance group. We also offer intensive rehabilitation programmes where appropriate, training to care home staff and other professionals. We foster a patient centred philosophy, with space to be creative to meet individual needs.
