We are delighted to announce an opportunity to work as a Specialist Speech and Language Therapists in the speciality of adult acquired communication and swallowing disorders. If you are ready to grow and develop your specialist skills within this field, we are excited to welcome you to join our team at Fairfield General Hospital, working within our Primary Stroke Centre. There is also an opportunity to work on the acute medical and surgical wards.
This exciting opportunity will support your personal development and be involved in developments across the service. We have regular videofluoroscopy clinics and a new FEEs service to support good quality patient care and staff development.
This position will suit Speech and Language Therapists who have been working at band 5 level and wish to further develop specialist skills in the field of adult acquired communication and swallowing disorders. A band 5 to band 6 development post can be considered for the right applicant with competencies to support this.

**Every day is different You will be**:
Competent to work independently with adults with dysphagia and communication difficulties and current knowledge of their assessment and treatment procedures.
Managing a caseload of patients assessing and making a clinical judgement of their condition and needs.
Create and implement individualised treatment programmes, ensuring these are evaluated and modified as required, following appropriate pathways of care and communicating via liaison and referral to other agencies as required.
Supported by Specialist Speech and Language Therapy colleagues, therapy assistants and colleagues within our stroke service.
Be willing to work flexibly which includes supporting 7 day working.
Be willing to help further develop the service we provide.
Keen to provide specialist advice and enjoy delivering training across the wider workforce as well as educating and enriching student’s experiences too
