We have an excellent opportunity for a Research Grants Manager to work for a leading scientific institute in Norwich on a part-time basis.

**_Part-time: 18.5 hours per week up to £50,448 pro-rata_**

**Research Grants Manager’sMain Duties**:

- Leading on the management of all grant submissions: providing quality assurance and expert advice; developing informed project budgets; advising on style format, content and writing justifications; proof reading and polishing final submissions; and ensuringdeadlines are met
- Working with scientists throughout the life cycle of a grant, proactively addressing issues and managing best outcomes; acting as a facilitator for sponsor interaction; and devising solutions to complex problems
- Assisting and advising scientific and Institute staff on contractual matters, such as Collaboration Agreements, Material Transfer Agreements and Confidentiality Agreements, and drafting and negotiating them in liaison with HR and Finance.

**Research Grants Manager’s Education/Qualifications**:

- Bachelors degree or equivalent in a science discipline
- PhD or other post graduate qualification (desirable)

**Research Grants Manager’s Skills & Experience**
- Proven track record of grant administration in a Research Office at a Research Institute or a Higher Education Institution
- Experience of drafting and negotiating research contracts (desirable)
- Ability to manage a diverse portfolio of grants
- Ability to assimilate information from a wide variety of sources
- Able to work independently within a broad framework and with mínimal supervision
- Intermediate MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Highly numerate with experience of developing budgets for research contracts
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with at all levels
- Good prioritisation and multi-tasking skills
- Ability to deliver to tight deadlines under pressure
