Hildreth’s Home and Garden Centre is a friendly family business in Prestwood. We currently have an opportunity to join our team and support the future growth of our business.

We’re looking for a part-time _Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator_ _to work alongside our part-time _Office Administrator_, ensuring the smooth, efficient, and compliant operation of all business support processes. We’re keen to improve our processes and use of technology, so there’ll be some interesting projects to work on, plus involvement in local community events. Both roles in the office team work closely with the Directors and have a significant impact on how our business functions.

As our Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator, you’ll process all bills and invoices, maintain all our financial records, and run our monthly payroll - all within our Sage software. You’ll also be responsible for providing regular reports on cash flow, profit and loss, and other financial measures.

You’ll initially focus just on this role, but over time, you’ll learn the Office Administrator role so you can cover the work when necessary. The Office Administrator will also learn your role over time, so you can support each other during busy times.

We need someone to work 22.5 hours per week, over 3 days each week (Wednesday to Friday), this is to ensure we have cover in the office for all 5 weekdays, with 1 day of overlap. We can be flexible with start and finish times.

To be considered for the role, it’s essential that you have:

- previous experience of bookkeeping and payroll, ideally within a small business
- good working knowledge of Sage accounting software
- good general IT skills, with the ability to learn new software quickly and make the most of it
- skills and motivation to review and improve processes
- positive, proactive and problem-solving approach

You’ll also need to be able to prioritise and manage your own workload, ensuring that deadlines are met and a high quality of work is maintained, whilst communicating and collaborating effectively with the Office Administrator. Previous experience of working in a job share situation would be an advantage.

The full time salary for this role is £27-30k (£14-15.50ph), depending on your skills, knowledge and experience. For 22.5 hours per week, this is £16,200 to £18,000 pa.
