As a key role in the security department, the Security Advisor will be assisting the Security Manager in delivering allocated aspects of the security operation including but not limited to:

- Security administration tasks, invoicing and billing
- Compliance monitoring and auditing
- Health, Safety, Security and Sustainability management which includes writing and maintaining risk assessments and contingency plans
- To provide Security compliance and assurance support to Southampton Airport and wider airport campus including supporting associated third parties to uphold security standards within the Security operation to ensure compliance with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Department for Transport (DfT) and Company requirements for all project and planning requirements.
- The role holder will be expected to deputise or represent the Security Manager in meetings where there will be a requirement to provide security advice.

**Principle accountabilities**
- Manage and maintain all aspects of aviation security on a daily basis including the completion of monthly assurance audits across relevant security legislation and internal processes and procedures. This will entail being visual across the airport site, working with our 3rd party suppliers to raise any security concerns and assisting the Security Manager in maintaining a positive security compliance record.
- Provide admin support to the Security Manager which includes purchasing, billing, and invoicing for the security department in line with the set security budget. Assisting the Security Manager with setting the security budget based on the analysis of financial trends.
- Assisting the Security Manager deliver and maintain a good Security Management System (SeMS) and security culture across the airport and associated 3rd parties. This will include maintaining the SeMS accreditation by following, planning, and implementing aspects of the SeMS framework.
- Participate in the SIAL security assurance program led by the Security Manager. Southampton Airport Security assurance program is vital to ensure compliance levels across many aspects of the legislation. This will include working directly with the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to explain local processes and implement any changes to these processes.
- Proactively support the Security Manager through participation in various projects and trials to advance the delivery of the security product to our customers. Future projects include the next generation security project, security vehicle post changes, airside works and smaller projects to continuously improve the security at Southampton Airport.
- Work closely with the Health and Safety and Environmental Teams to drive Health and Safety and Environmental initiatives and performance. This will include completing assessments and investigations on the internal reporting system OSHENS and providing feedback to reporters. The role will also being working closely with the Security Manager to delivery an effective business continuity management system inclusive of tabletop exercising and emergency planning as part of the Managing Responsibly System (MRS).
- To carry out any other duties that may be outside the standard remit for the purpose of personal development, or as may be reasonably required by the company.

**Qualifications and experienc**e

**Essential**
- To be in possession of a valid Counter Terrorist Check prior to appointment
- Ability to attain Airport Security Manager qualification (Level 3) on appointment
- Ability to attain RFX Firearms and Explosives qualification on appointment.
- Sound understanding of UK Aviation security policies and regulations.
- Computer Literate including experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.

**Desirable**
- Experience in working with regulatory bodies, specifically the DfT and CAA
- Level 1 or level 2 security officer/ supervisor experience.
- Understanding of invoicing and billing.
- Understanding of local Health and Safety policies and regulations.
