Specialist Family Support Worker

Seven Resourcing are looking for 2 temporary Specialist Family Support Workers to work with the Early Help in Darlington. These positions are initially for a period of 3 months and will be paying £13.44 - £16.54 per hour (PAYE and umbrella payment optionsare available).
**The role**:
To undertake and ensure the effective delivery of preventative work with children, young people and their families and improve their life changes.
**Key Responsibilities**:
To work in partnership with children, young people, their families and other professionals to support families who have multiple problems by providing targeted interventions. This will include supporting families who meet the criteria for the National TroubledFamilies and High Impact Household Programmes.
To act as a Lead Professional when required and coordinate packages of support.
The interventions will include addressing issues such as behaviour, relationship difficulties within the family, anger management, employability and to help children at the edge of care by assisting parents in developing strategies to enhance their parentingskills to prevent family breakdown.
To have an understanding of key issues that impact upon families, for example, domestic abuse, substance misuse, worklessness, mental health, debt and anti-social behaviour, young people being at risk of not reaching their potential in education or training.To undertake assessments and planning to reduce the impact of these issues on the children and their families. To offer advice and guidance to the whole team dependant on specialist areas of knowledge.
To provide intensive practical support and advice and guidance to children, young people and their families and where appropriate refer to other agencies.
To have an understanding of child development, family dynamics and the impact of family life.
**Applicant Requirements**:
- **Qualifications**:NVQ level 3 or equivalent recognised professional qualification relevant to service specialism.
- **Experience**:2+ years working within a similar role.
- **Compliance**:Current DBS and references covering the last 3 years.
- **Travel**:Clean UK driving license with the ability to commute to and from work independently.
- **Hours**:37.5 hours p/w.
