**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The Head Housekeeping role is a busy yet rewarding role in a care home setting. You will lead a team of housekeepers and laundry assistants ensuring that Beulah Vista feels clean and warm. We would like our residents to have a home from home feel so encourage items such as pictures and ornaments to have in bedrooms. By leading your team, it is essential that every room and communal living space is maintained to the highest standards following infection control procedures. The Head Housekeeper will manage the rota and stay on top of team holidays.

- Reliable and keen to learn new things
- To be confident in the role supporting and teaching others
- Have a positive, ‘can do’ attitude
- To have a caring nature, personable approach and good practical skills.
- Experience in similar role is desirable
**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- You will help to create the warm and homely surroundings ensuring the residents feel safe and secure
- To oversee that daily cleaning of resident’s bedrooms including polishing, hoovering and bed making has been carried out
- Your day-to-day activities will include the efficient and cost-effective running of all housekeeping services, carrying out equipment checks and preventive maintenance and providing a consistent high level of service through efficient staff and cleaning rotas.
- Support with complaints, dealing with them promptly and directly
- lessons learnt to be carried out to prevent it from occurring again
- You’ll need an excellent knowledge of the COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) regulations
- To build good relationships with our residents and their families by being visible on the floor
- To take part in activities in the home, making the home fun and inviting
- Following excellent infection control and health and safety measures throughout the home
- You will need to have good and effective communication skills reporting back to the Home Manager if you have any concerns
- To manage the monthly housekeeping budget
**GENERAL**
- To attend and participate in team meetings and complete all mandatory training
- To attend supervision and appraisals ensuring that you have prepared for these to get the best out of them
- To attend any other training when a need has been identified
- To participate in fire drills and take these seriously
- To follow the code of conduct and uniform policy
- Mobile phones are not to be used while on duty
- To ensure that all information of a confidential and GDPR is followed
- Understand your duty to whistle blow if you witness bad practice or harm to a resident within Beulah Vista

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: £11.00-£11.50 per hour

- 8 hour shift
COVID-19 considerations:
We follow government guidance in regards to Covid-19 and PPE's. We provide PPE's PCR and LFT at Beulah Vista.
