Our Professional Standards Department is looking for Vetting Research Officers to join our busy vetting team.

As a Vetting Research Officer, you will carry out extensive research to assess applicants’ integrity and identify any areas of vulnerability which could damage public confidence in the force or wider police service.

You'll carry out research working to the vetting APP and high standards of our Professional Standards Department.

We currently have the following vacancies:
1 x 27.5 hour permanent part time (flexible hours)

1 x 20 hour 12 month maternity cover part time (flexible hours)

**What you’ll be doing**
- Carrying out thorough research using various police computer systems and databases
- Conducting vetting interviews with applicants to establish their suitability to the role and to work for the organisation
- Handle and use sensitive personal data to gather, process and evaluate information to support actions and decisions.
- Providing specialist advice and knowledge to internal and external customers

**The must haves**
- Experience of accurately checking, recording, and retrieving information from databases
- Able to produce written work to a high standard of accuracy
- Have the ability to organise and manage own workload to meet demanding deadlines

For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.

**Please note that, due to the nature of security checks undertaken, applicants must have 5 years' continuous residency in the UK and Home Office approval for indefinite leave to remain within the UK.**
