Laundry Assistant

**Job Description**:
Our public sector client based in Wishaw require a number of Laundry Assistants for an immediate start on a temporary basis. Variable shift patterns including dayshift, backshift and nightshift so need to be fully flexible. The hourly pay rate is £10.03 with a shift allowance payable for unsociable hours.

**Main Purpose of the role**:Staff members will be required to work in various operations throughout the laundry process, and to achieve production targets.

**Main Duties**:

- Categorising dirty linen received from NHS hospitals- Feeding work to and unloading work from industrial ironing and folding equipment- Packing & folding linen items- Cleaning equipment and laundry in general- Pushing & pulling cages of linen- Others as required**Key Skills**
- Effective written and verbal communication skills- Ability to work with others as part of a multi-disciplinary team- Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment- Physically demanding job. Constantly standing, bending, lifting and twisting for the full working day- Ability to work quickly and efficiently to meet delivery- Working in varying temperatures throughout the laundry i.e. hot especially at calander area in the summer and cold throughout the winter.- Previous experience of laundry work would be beneficial however not a prerequisite as training will be given.- Working knowledge of basic information technology
