Estimator (Building & Maintenance)

**We are looking for a skilled and commercially aware Estimator to join our Building & Maintenance team.**
of building works, reactive maintenance, and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) projects.
This is a key role in supporting tendering, securing new business, and ensuring cost-effective delivery
across multiple contracts to grow the Company.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Analyse tender documents, drawings, and specifications to prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates.
- Measure works, prepare schedules of rates, and produce bills of quantities where required.
- Obtain quotations from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring best value and compliance.
- Prepare tender submissions, cost plans, and budget estimates for a wide range of projects, including
reactive repairs, void refurbishments, planned maintenance, and minor works.
- Carry out site visits and surveys to assess scope of works and validate pricing assumptions.
- Identify and assess risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.
- Work closely with contracts managers, surveyors, and clients to ensure accurate project costing and
budget control.
- Maintain a strong understanding of current material, labour, and subcontractor costs relevant to the
building and maintenance sector.
- Support framework bids, tender clarifications, and post-tender negotiations.
**Skills &; Experience Required**
- Proven experience as an Estimator within the building and/or maintenance sector (social housing, local
authority, commercial, or facilities management contracts beneficial).
- Strong knowledge of UK construction and maintenance practices, including SOR (Schedule of Rates) and
NHF schedules.
- Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for client and stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
- Relevant qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or Building Services (HNC/HND/Degree) are
desirable but not essential.
Salary dependant on skills and experience
Pay: £38,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
