Team Leader

**How you'll make a difference**:
You will make a difference as a Team Leader by motivating your team to monitor and enforce Traffic Management measures, ensuring the free flow of traffic and the correct use of parking spaces and car parks to increase road safety and support local businesses, shoppers and traders.

**What will you be doing?**
- You will supervise the smooth running of the parking case officer team on a day to day basis, creating an environment and structure that provides excellent customer service including monitoring the quality and quantity of work produced and be the first port of call for low to mid-level escalations.
- You will be responsible for the governance of the issuing and processing of Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) for the enforcement of relevant parking and moving traffic offences through modern technology (static and car mounted CCTV).
- You will be able to collate and produce reports analysing the penalty charge notice statistics.
- You will have day to day responsibility for ensuring the appeals team considers challenges and appeals in line with statutory processes and timetables along with Council policy.
- You will manage case loads; allocate work; providing specialist advice to the team and deciding when challenges should be contested at a Traffic Penalty Tribunal.
- You will lead on the escalation of cases to debt recovery agents and ensure that due process is followed.
- You will be responsible for the handling of customer enquiries by telephone and in writing and the reviewing and processing of appeals and challenges.
- You will work with the Team Leader (Enforcement) and with Senior Civil Enforcement Officers to ensure consistency of approach and delivery across the service

**What we need from you**:

- **Y**ou will have a relevant professional or equivalent level qualification or equivalent relevant experience and be an accredited member of the British Parking Association.
- You will have detailed knowledge of parking enforcement legislation, backed by evidence of appropriate specialist knowledge of the operation and practice of parking enforcement.
- You will have experience of and the ability to supervise and develop a team and have experience of planning work activities within general professional guidelines and/or Council’s policies.
- You will demonstrate knowledge in the use of Chipside or other appropriate software packages.
- It is essential you have good verbal and written communication skills
- You will have some financial experience or be undertaking training to manage budgets.
- You may be required to travel around the authority so a current driving licence or access to appropriate means of travel would be advantageous.
