**Senior Digital User Researcher**

**Contract Term: 6 Months**

**Contracting Authority: Land Registry***

**Location: Hybrid working (2 days a week in the office)**

As a Senior User Researcher you will shape how we scope, design and carry out research activities with users to help our teams build a deep understanding of the people that use their services. Your research will inform policy, strategy, service, content and interaction design, ensuring our services work well for users and achieve their policy intent. You will plan and lead research on larger teams and more complex services, working with product managers and service designers to help shape service propositions, whilst working directly with the Head of User Research and Lead User Researchers to align user research activity.

**As a Senior Digital User Researcher your main responsibilities would be**:

- Leading the planning, design and execution of user research and usability testing to understand user needs and behaviours and inform the design and development of HMLR services
- Influencing how decisions are made and constructively challenging ways of thinking at both the team and senior stakeholder level
- Supporting other user researchers within a digital delivery team, mentoring and up-skilling researchers and supporting the growth and development of the team
- Taking a user centred, evidence-based approach by turning user research findings into actionable insights that influence service/product development
- Supporting digital delivery teams to build accessible digital services by ensuring that participants with access needs and low digital skills are included in all research
- Sharing insights from research and examples of best practice where they can help other user researchers in the Community
- You can align user research activities to inform decision making and action.
- On a day to day identifying, mitigating or escalating risks to conducting and implementing research to Head of User Research
- You will take an active role in the user research community at HMLR

**You’ll have relevant experience in**:

- Setting clear and relevant research goals. Designs, structures and conduct research to understand people’s goals, motivation and behavior.
- Using appropriate methodology for the phase of the project
- Documenting and sharing research insights. Using a variety of different methodologies to communicate actionable research insights. Present based on the needs, context and culture of the team. Insights support ongoing service iterations.
- Framing assumptions or hypotheses for the project team(s). Working with stakeholders to articulate their understanding of problems, and identify underlying assumptions that might be driving service development and design decisions
