About the role
We are looking for Peer Advocates to support our Community Advocacy Service in the Boroughs of Wandsworth and Richmond. You will be based from home however the role will involve travel within Wandsworth and Richmond and, ideally, you will be able to commit a minimum of 7 hours / one day per week to volunteering.
You will receive training and regular supervision to ensure you feel confident in your role. You can read more about the benefits of volunteering on the full advert on our website.
About the service
Wandsworth and Richmond Community Advocacy Service supports individuals who are vulnerable and find themselves in a challenging situation in their lives. We offer support to a wide range of people, including people with learning, physical, sensory disabilities and mental illness.
You will join other volunteers and be part of our wider team which also provides statutory advocacy services.
We are open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, therefore are specifically looking for Volunteers who are available on weekdays during these times.
What you will be doing as a Peer Advocate
Peer advocacy refers to one-to-one support provided by advocates with a similar disability or experience to a person using services.
Providing short-term single-issue advocacy around health or social care problems.
What will make you a great fit for this role?

You will be passionate about supporting people who are struggling to have their voice heard and their rights upheld.
