Pupil Referral Behaviour Mentor

Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint an education assistant to work within one of our Pupil Referral Unit Schools in Plymouth. You will be working closely with the students to engage them in their daily lessons and focusing on being a positive rolemodel. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone to gain valuable experience and work alongside an excellent staff team who are committed to the wellbeing of their students.
Previous experience working with children with special educational needs or with behaviour management skills is extremely desirable even if not within a classroom setting.
Key responsibilities:
- Ensuring the children’s needs are met within the classroom
- Keeping the day to day
- Supporting students with their wider development
- Build positive relationships
- Attending school trips and accessing the wider community to assist with the students learning
**Requirements**:
- Compassion and empathy
- A calm and adaptable personality
- High emotional resilience
- Experience in nursing, mental health work or youth work
- Commitment to the role Monday - Friday
