Workforce Personnel are a recruitment agency currently recruiting for Support Workers to pick up temporary and ad hoc shifts on behalf of our client in the Dunstable area.
Rates of pay are from £10.50 ph - £20ph, depending on shifts and location.
**More about the role**:
The goal of our clients Reablement Service is to help older people live independently in their own homes. By giving as many people as possible an active life within the community, A small proportion of people will need and benefit from short-term care ina 24-hour bedded facility for the purposes of rehabilitation or recovery where time is given to the assessment and consideration of options for longer term care. This could be in a rehabilitation facility, care home or hospice care.
Recovering from illness or a stay in hospital can take time - and make everyday tasks very difficult. As a Unit Support Worker, you’ll be there to help older people and get them back on their feet again. You will encourage people to regain skills and enablethem to manage daily living tasks such as washing, dressing, and preparing meals for themselves.
**Your duties will include**: -- Playing a vital role in preserving the comfort and quality of life of each individual under your care
- Providing an excellent person-centred service
- Supporting choice and independence in the residents
- Supporting with washing and dressing, providing nutritional support, personal care and assisting with activities as and when required
- You will need to be a naturally compassionate person with a strong sense of empathy for those individuals under your care.
**Required: -**
- This position requires you to complete all mandatory training and an enhanced DBS before being able to undertake any working assignment.
- A minimum of 1 years’ experience within a similar care setting.
- Be flexible to travel - driving licence and own transport is preferable to get to shifts, but is not a necessity as long as you're able to commute.
- Be flexible in your availability - this role is most suited to those with a flexible working pattern.
- Experience with providing support and care to adults or children.
- You must have the right to work within the UK
