As Head of Digital Workplace, you will provide leadership and strategic vision and overall management of a multidisciplinary team of technical engineering specialists.

You will deploy, manage and develop skills to achieve productivity and service level agreement improvements, maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders whilst taking into account the needs of end users. In addition, you will work closely with the Heads of Architecture, Software Engineering and Engineering Services to ensure the technology skillsets of the Digital Workplace Engineering capability is in line with those required to deliver against DVLA’s IT Strategy, ensuring the successful transition of new and enhanced IT services into the area.

**Responsibilities**:
Include but not limited to:

- Develop strategic and tactical engineering roadmaps for technologies and services in your area of responsibility, ensuring they’re future-proofed and that the organisation derives maximum value from investment in technologies.
- Own the operational relationships with suppliers, ensuring services and products are delivered and aligned to industry best practice and regulatory and contractual requirements.
- Work with technical architects to translate the architectural designs into operations and support technical architects in operationalising the designs.

**About you**

We are looking for someone who has experience and a strong interest in digital workplace technologies (to include M365, Service Now, Access and Identity Management), design and implementation.

You will have the aptitude and experience to create a strategic plan to develop and establish this new role in our organisation, you will have a broad range of technical expertise including being familiar with heritage technology to support the transition from old to new into the strategic plan.

You will have a high level of focus on customer service, to equip our DVLA colleagues with the tools and support packages they need to deliver value to our customers.

You will bring excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly develop strong working relationships with a variety of technical and non-technical stakeholders to influence decision making at the most senior level of the organisation.

You will be flexible and adaptable to the differing and changing requirements of our business whilst demonstrating open mindedness and curiosity to new ideas and approaches.

You will have experience of managing multi-disciplined teams delivering in a rapidly changing and evolving technology landscape and have the ability to effectively coach and mentor others.
