- You will be part of a newly formed team to deliver one of government’s key priorities. These exciting new roles sit within the Policy and New Concepts division which has a core role in delivering on the Institute’s strategic plan.**Job description**:

- We are looking to recruit two Senior Emerging Skills Policy Advisors.
- Each role will lead on specific aspects of the development of the Institute’s emerging skills policy and strategy. This will include but is not limited to:
- Working collaboratively with the DfE teams on emerging skills policy and building relationships across government to ensure wider government priorities are met.
- Building strong relationships and partnerships with officials and analysts both within the Institute and externally including with the Unit for Future skills, other government bodies and external foresighting organisations.
- Gather, analyse, and interpret data on emerging skills from a wide variety of internal and external sources, and present this in a clear and compelling way to a variety of audiences.
- Convene employer and other stakeholder groups to review and validate foresighting intelligence
- Lead the development and revision of Institute processes for emerging skills building strong relationships with operational teams ensuring any new policy or process considers their requirements up front.

**Responsibilities**:

- We are looking for someone with proven leadership skills, a self-starter who enjoys working collaboratively and experience of shaping and implementing policy. You should be able to engage and involve stakeholders through your strong interpersonal skills underpinned by a clearly presented evidence base.
- You will work closely with the other members of the Policy and New Concepts team and collaborate with the wider Institute teams responsible for the development and approval of technical education programmes to ensure occupational standards, and technical qualifications are meeting the future skills needs of employers.- Essential Criteria:_
- Proven track record of developing innovative policy solutions based on evidence and analysis with the ability to turn policy into efficient and customer-centric processes.
- Experience of building excellent relationships and networks with external organisations and agencies, including working with and on behalf of employers.
- Evidence of analysing large amounts of complex information, from internal and external sources, summarising and making recommendations to employers and senior leaders
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to translate complex and conceptual issues into clear, concise outcomes for different audiences/stakeholders
- Excellent negotiating, influencing and networking skills
- A skilled verbal communicator with good interpersonal and presentation skills.
