Flutter UKI - Sports & Trading Platforms is a Tribe with presence in four different locations (Dublin, Leeds, London, and Porto) and composed by more than 200 people.

We are currently looking for a Head of Delivery to join our Tribe. The primary location for this role can be any of these four locations (Dublin, Leeds, London, and Porto) but travels between these offices are expected.

The role is part of the tribe technology leadership team reporting to the Director of Flutter UKI Sports & Trading Platforms Tribe. The Head of Delivery in Sports & Trading Platforms will be responsible for the overall delivery of the Tribe Delivery initiatives.

You'll manage a team of Product Delivery Managers, Product Owners, Business Analysts and Delivery Leads whilst working closely with a wider group of partners to ensure that everyone is aligned to the Flutter UK&I strategy and in partnership with Commercial, Trading, Finance, 3rd party software providers, Engineers, Architects, and other teams to plan and deliver high quality solutions.

As the Head of Delivery in Sports & Trading Platforms, you are responsible and accountable for a fast-paced and energetic Agile delivery portfolio and a team that spans from multiple in-house Engineering squads and squads working with third parties. You have the exciting challenge of ensuring the tribe delivers all in-flight initiatives and programmes within the portfolio on-time and to a very high-quality standard.
What you'll do

Report to the Director of Flutter UKI Sports & Trading Platforms Tribe.

Work with product, technology, marketing, commercial, UX, external tribes and third parties, foster relationships to cultivate a collaborative working environment ensuring the successfully delivery of all initiatives across these teams.

Lead and grow a passionate and hard-working team of Product Delivery Managers, Product Owners, Business Analysts and Delivery Leads.

Be responsible for running the delivery team, as well as acting as a mentor and coach to facilitate their progression within the Tribe.

Foster a continuous improvement culture and, through the use of data, the ability to “fail fast and cheaply” and learn from the experience. Also be responsible for empowering your team and facilitating the delivery of high-quality products regularly, repeatedly, and predictably through a focus on risk management, technical excellence, business value, dependency management and the needs of the customer.

Drive consistency in delivery approach to ensure teams’ commitments are being met and the quality of what is being delivered remains high. In addition, provide the opportunity to grows skills and capabilities within the team to take advantage of new technologies and tools as they emerge.

How you'll do it

Outstanding leadership skills will ensure that you are seen as a role model and able to influence teams with your knowledge and experience of delivery and Agile ways of working.

Be an authority - experienced in programme and portfolio management advocating new tools and techniques to continue innovating delivery ways of working and processes.

Thrive under pressure, but also be able to think strategically and plan for future growth, structure and scale.

Be an exceptional communicator and experienced in managing multiple challenging customers with an ability to shape and influence decisions at executive level.

Your experience and insight will guide you to identify risks and issues, but you will be data-driven in your decision making and promote this approach within the team.

Have significant hands-on experience of delivering large, sophisticated programmes in a fast paced online business and will be expert in Lean and Agile software product delivery, and equally adept at handling delivery via third parties and commercial mechanisms.

Know how to harness Agile dev teams to deliver business objectives on time whilst staying focused on cost and risk through MVP, short feedback loops, adaptive planning, continuous improvement and short planning cycles.

Be experienced in leading teams, managing senior managers and be focused on career development to enable your team members to develop and thrive.

Be a role model, demonstrating a strong delivery ethic using Agile values and principles in the way you work and think.
