**The role**:
We are seeking a Clinical Team Leader for our Autism service. The successful individual will be an enthusiastic and highly skilled NMC or HCPC registered professional with expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of neurodevelopmental conditions.

Both strong clinical skills as well as leadership skills will be imperative for this role.

The Clinical Team Leader will be confident in taking responsibility for quality and operational aspects of the service with support from other members of the Senior Management Team.

Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Clinical Team Leader will form part of the Senior Management Team and will lead on the delivery of Autism clinical services operations and high quality care, in liaison with, and overseeing the substantive team of administrative staff and clinicians, as well as Associate clinicians.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Leadership**:
The Clinical Team Leader will have an integral role in developing and delivering the service strategy, and providing operational and clinical leadership to the team.

Deputise for the Clinical Director in their absence in regards to clinical decisions

Work closely with the Clinical Director and Chief Operating Officer to understand service needs, and support the Board in their decision making

Take responsibility for team performance and governance Nurture a culture that promotes learning, development, inquiry and professionalism, celebrating achievements as well as being able to provide constructive feedback, and sharing learning appropriately

Understand staffing needs and ensuring cost effectiveness within all aspects of the service

Support communication and liaison with external parties such as ICBs

Liaising with the team to ensure the delivery of key performance indicators

**Staff Management**:
Formal line management of some substantive staff including clinicians, not limited to providing supervision, conducting appraisals and supporting professional development

Clinical support to the administrative team to review and manage referrals

Act as supervisor to Associate clinicians, not limited to monitoring performance, supporting development and ensuring mandatory training is kept up to date

Support with inductions, shadowing requirements and aspects of the recruitment process such as interviews and shortlisting

**Quality, Compliance and Clinical Governance**:
Work with the Clinical Director to ensure service users receive a high standard of care

Ensure compliance with CQC and statutory regulations, and current legislation, maintaining accurate records of such

Accountable for ensuring timely completion and implementation of action plans in respect of regulatory, clinical and service requirements

Manage and maintain records of service and patient risks

Deal appropriately with safeguarding concerns and responsibilities

Ensure that Incident and feedback reporting is completed promptly, and take corrective action where required, engaging colleagues in the process, where appropriate

Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, processes and initiatives

Undertake and complete audits, clinical investigations, complaints and HR investigations where relevant, ensuring these are completed thoroughly, promptly and to a high standard

**Clinical**:
One day a week completing Clinical Assessments to a high standard

**Knowledge / Education / Skills**:
Professional NMC or HCPC registration Strong clinical experience in Autism and preferably neurodevelopmental conditions in general

Understanding of statutory regulations Passionate about providing high quality care and service improvement

Experience in quality assurance activities

Demonstrated leadership and decision making abilities

Forward thinking, proactive and innovative

Able to deal with multiple issues simultaneously in a highly dynamic environment

High level of integrity and able to implement boundaries
