Five Education is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant to work in a well-resourced and nurturing primary school. They require someone who can demonstrate compassion and patience. This person will assist a Year 5 pupil in their lessons and around theschool in the mornings. There is a potential for additional hours for the right person.
The primary school is based in North Somerset. The school would like someone who is experienced in supporting hard-to-reach children. Special Educational Needs (S.E.N.) experience is important for this role. The child needs additional help to remain engagedat school and therefore needs someone who can sit with them one-to-one. This role will include helping them with reading and writing.
This role will be hugely rewarding and there is some flexibility around the working hours. The school is inclusive and the school staff work collaboratively to support all children to feel settled and happy at school. The right person will be able to quicklyestablish rapport with the pupil and be committed to helping them through each challenge.
Main duties:
*Be a positive role model to the pupil.
*Help the pupil to remain 'on-task' and attend timetabled lessons.
*Provide support to the pupil during the scheduled activity, re-affirming the school's expectations of behaviour and effort.
*Assist in the accurate recording of attendance and daily activities.
*Work closely with the teaching staff to ensure all lesson objectives and personal goals are achieved.
Essential criteria:

- Previous experience working with individuals with SEN/Autism/Complex Needs/Social Emotional Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
- Have a right to work in the UK (A Valid Visa).
- At least one recent child-based reference and relevant DBS/ Police checks.
