The successful applicant for this post will support the Postgraduate Dean and Head of School of Obstetrics & Gynaecology in the co-ordination, delivery and direction of the Training Programme in Health Education England across the West Midlands.
The role of Training Programme Director is to work with and support the Head of School in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions, aligned to the Health Education England mandate.
The post would be an ideal opportunity for an experienced educational supervisor aiming to further develop their educational portfolio.
This TPD role will be responsible for the management and running of the WM Obstetrics & Gynaecology Training Programme.
Experience of clinical and educational leadership and innovation, including managing a multi-professional team.
This post would require someone who is able to emphasise the importance and promote the development of a quality learning environment for all learners, demonstrable leadership skills and an ability to influence and motivate others.
HEE working across the West Midlands is responsible for the delivery of high quality postgraduate medical and dental education and training across the region and HEE is committed to the development of a medical and dental workforce that will support high quality patient care.
It is expected that Training Programme Directors continue in clinical practice while fulfilling the role. The posts will be offered for 3 years in the first instance with the option of extending the contract upon completion of a satisfactory annual appraisal.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Head of School, Regional Postgraduate Dean, local Educators and the Faculty Support Team to produce doctors who will strive for the highest standards of patient-centred care and commit themselves to a lifetime of professional development.
