**Job Purpose**:
The Activities Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and delivering a varied and stimulating programme of activities that enhance the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of residents. This role ensures that all activities are person-centred, inclusive, and aligned with residents’ preferences, abilities, and life histories.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Activity Planning & Delivery**:

- Design and implement a weekly schedule of group and one-to-one activities, including games, arts and crafts, music, gentle exercise, gardening, and outings.
- Adapt activities to meet the individual needs and preferences of residents, including those with dementia or physical limitations.
- Celebrate special occasions, such as birthdays, holidays, and cultural events.
- **Resident Engagement**:

- Encourage and support residents to participate in activities that promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and enjoyment.
- Gather feedback from residents and families to continually improve the activity programme.
- Build relationships with residents to understand their interests, background, and life stories.
- **Communication & Collaboration**:

- Work closely with care staff, volunteers, and external entertainers or organisations.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and other staff to ensure a coordinated approach to care and activity provision.
- Promote a positive and inclusive atmosphere within the home.
- **Administration**:

- Maintain records of resident participation and progress.
- Manage the activity budget and resources efficiently.
- Ensure all activities comply with health and safety and safeguarding regulations.

**Person Specification**:
**Essential**:

- Experience in planning and delivering recreational or therapeutic activities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Creativity and enthusiasm
- Empathy, patience, and a person-centred approach
- Ability to work flexibly, including weekends or evenings as required

**Desirable**:

- Previous experience in a care home or with elderly/vulnerable people
- Understanding of dementia care
- Full UK driving licence (if outings are part of the role

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
